DISASTER. strikes anytime, anywhere. It takes many forms a hurricane, an earthquake, a tornado, a flood, a fire or a hazardous spill, an act of nature or an act of terrorism. It builds over days or weeks, or hits suddenly, without warning. Every year, millions of South Asians face a disaster, and its terrifying consequences.
On October 8th, 2005 SA Relief was established as a grassroot forum to help coordinate, manage, and validate data in relation to the Earthquake that hit Northern Pakistan and India at that time. Since then SA Reliefs focus has expanded to all disasters affecting South Asians.
SA Relief will help coordinate, manage and disseminate data relevant to disasters in and around South Asia. Our support ranges from providing Web and IT infrastructure support to forging relationships between donors and relief organizations at ground zero.
